Research Fellowships


The Kettering Foundation offers one-year fellowships to doctoral candidates with research interests in democratic theory and practice. Fellows participate in workshops and meetings. They also engage in research projects, writing reports and reviewing literature related to the foundation's program areas.

Interested applicants should send a cover letter, resume, three letters of recommendation, and a writing sample. The cover letter should address the following: What elements of Kettering Foundation research do you find most related to your research? Where are you now in the timetable for completion of your dissertation? What skills and knowledge do you hope to gain from a year at the Kettering Foundation? Application cut-off date is March 15.
