Making Choices Together: The Power of Public Deliberation

If democratic politics is to operate as it should, the public must act. First, however, it must decide what direction it wants to go. This booklet, by David Mathews and Noelle McAfee, explains public deliberation, a process in which citizens weigh the costs and benefits of various approaches to solving public problems. It also provides tips for developing programs in deliberative democracy in the reader's community.
