At A Public Voice 2016, representatives of the National Issues Forums and other deliberative democracy groups discussed early insights from forums on heath-care and economic security issues. A panel of elected officials and policymakers responded to that discussion about how and where they thought these insights could be usefully applied. The event was livestreamed May 5, but if you missed it then, you can now watch the entire event in the segments below.
As part of A Public Voice, the Kettering Foundation also produced an interim report on the two series of deliberative forums held in 2015-2016 using the Health Care: How Can We Reduce Costs and Still Get the Care We Need? issue guide and the Making Ends Meet: How Should We Spread Prosperity and Improve Opportunity? issue guide. In order to create the report, researchers from Kettering and Public Agenda attended forums, talked with forum moderators, reviewed questionnaires filled out by forum participants, and analyzed transcripts of in-person forums as well as chat logs and other forum data from Common Ground for Action forums. You can download the complete interim report here.
