Federica (Fed) Marangio, Fanning Resident

Federica (Fed) Marangio is a Fanning resident at the Kettering Foundation. She is an Italian journalist from the Southeast coast of Italy (San Pancrazio Salentino, Brindisi).

Marangio’s research areas are community journalism and the triple helix where university, government, and enterprises work together for the betterment of society. She is interested in exploratory ways of engaging the community through journalism.

Since 2012, she has been a regular contributor to the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno. She also has international working experience in the Netherlands and China. In 2015, she published her first novel, La Cicatrice (Falco Editore).

Marangio holds a degree in communication science, and she obtained a master’s degree in digital library learning at the University of Oslo, Norway. She recently completed a PhD in technology innovation at the Department of Engineering for Innovation, University of Lecce, in partnership with the University of Guangzhou, China.
