Peter Kruger, International Resident Researcher

Peter Kruger is an international resident researcher at the Kettering Foundation. He comes from South Africa, where he completed his Philosophy Masters at Stellenbosch University. In his thesis, he investigated political legitimacy and sought normative arguments capable of justifying political authority. His other areas of interest are philosophical ethics, the philosophy of language, and post-structuralism. He has taught business ethics and is an editorial assistant at the African Journal of Business Ethics.
While at the foundation, Kruger will be engaged with the land question in South Africa. He is developing literature that will facilitate considered deliberation and produce constructive dialogue relating to this highly contentious issue. In 2019, he hopes to begin work on his PhD, also in political philosophy.
