Sarah Murphy, Communications Manager

Sarah Murphy is a communications manager at the Kettering Foundation. Murphy’s research interests include deliberation in everyday speech and incorporating deliberation into the communication classroom. She works closely with editors and graphic designers on the publication process for the foundation’s materials. She also contributes to the Cousins Research Group and the group that develops and reviews issue frameworks.

Murphy taught public speaking at Cedarville University for four years, where she introduced forums into the general education speech class. Prior to that, she served as the district director for two different Illinois state representatives. In this capacity, she was a liaison between the state representative and the district and interacted with constituents.

Murphy holds a BA in communication from Cedarville University and a MS in public communication from Drexel University.
